The obvious first step for any one who's on the look out for mesothelioma is to first educate themselves on what mesothelioma actually is.
Malignant mesothelioma (me-zoe-thee-lee-O-muh) in the simplest form is a very rare cancer that directly effects the thin layer of tissue that covers the majority of your internal organs (mesothelium).
Mesothelioma is very aggressive and often deadly form of cancer if timely and precise consideration is not giving. One will find that mesothelioma most often will attack the tissue that surrounds your lungs (pleura). This type is called pleural malignant mesothelioma, again later we will discuss more on this type. Other, which is even a less likely types of mesothelioma is the form that affect tissue in the abdomen (peritoneal mesothelioma), around the heart and around the testicles. Mesothelioma doesn't include a form of noncancerous (benign) tumor that occurs in the chest and is sometimes called benign mesothelioma or solitary fibrous tumor.
